Anchorpoint, the Standard Chartered-led stablecoin joint venture, said it plans to launch a retail product on a public blockchain following HSBC’s rollout of RedCoin. The venture stated that its next major milestone is introducing regulated digital currency into everyday payments and commercial applications while linking traditional payment infrastructure with public ledgers, taking what it characterized as a prudent approach.
The initiative signals an expansion of bank-sponsored stablecoin issuance beyond closed corporate settlement networks and proprietary retail applications toward open public infrastructure. Deploying on public chains elevates the operational significance of reserve segregation, redemption mechanics, and supervisory compliance across multiple jurisdictions. However, because Anchorpoint did not disclose specific launch timelines, network selections, reserve composition, or distribution partners, the ultimate impact on retail transaction volume remains uncertain.
Corporate resistance to the planned OKX–ICE tokenized-stock venue expanded as Wells Fargo, Cisco, Marvell, Arm, Moderna, and Intuit joined the list of dissenting issuers, bringing the total number of objecting companies to 22. The growing pushback underscores legal and reputational friction in secondary market tokenization when venues list synthetic or backed representations of public equities without direct corporate consent, though the venue operators have not yet clarified how these objections will affect scheduled listings.
US spot Bitcoin ETFs generated approximately $301 million in net weekly inflows, snapping a two-week streak of net redemptions despite two consecutive days of outflows closing the week and keeping aggregate October flows negative. Spot Bitcoin traded at $80,065 at the observation point, down 0.86% over 24 hours on $14.03 billion in reported trading volume. While the weekly net creation demonstrates underlying institutional demand at lower price levels, the late-week outflow reversal leaves the durability of the current accumulation trend unresolved.
